Bio:

Jim Hoddinott joined the PCA, Rennsport Region, in 2007 with his racing wife Aleksandra.  The two spent '07 and '08 learning from RSR Instructors and then Pro Driver JF Dumoulin, whom continues to coach them.  Jim gained additional experience with Skip Barber Regional Race Series.  He entered his first PCA Race at VIR in a GTC3 Cup Car.  His second race at Road America, where he won the GTA1 Class.  Mosport followed with Pole Position in GTB2 and a pair of Second Place finishes.  Regional Races were also competed in, at Circuit Mont Tremblant and Calabogie Motorsports Park, with class victories.

In 2009 Jim formed the Motorsports company, Speed Merchants.  It has quickly grown into one of the largest retailers/distributors of high performance parts, tires and race wear in North America.  

Speed Merchants build track focused Porsche's and provide track support at DE's and Club Races.  

Jim will be competing in the 48 Hours of Sebring this Feb.

Rob Maranada Bio:

Robert Maranda is a Montreal-born Cardiologist currently living in Ottawa. He joined the PCA, Golden Gate Region, in 2007 while studying in Heart Failure and Transplantation at Stanford University. After moving to Ottawa in 2008 he joined the Rennsport Region and enthusiastically climbed the ranks to PCA instructor. He rented a GTB2 car for his first race at Mosport, and proceeded to win First-in-Class in both the sprint race and enduro. After driving a couple Porsche 993's and a 996 GT3, he bought a 2009 GT3 Cup car and spent most weekends training with Pro coach JF Dumoulin and the SpeedMerchants team at Le Circuit Mont Tremblant and Calabogie Motorsports Park. After a few regional races and the encouragement of the SpeedMerchants team, he has signed up for the IMSA GT3 Cup Challenge Canada for 2012 in the Gold class.

Dr. Bob’s Bio

Bob Seitz, a.k.a. Doctor Bob, grew up in an automotive family and around racing. His father, an automobile dealer in Canada, raced Corvettes during the late 50s and early 60s in the early days of SCCA. Dr. Bob began his racing hobby in the early 80s while living in south Florida, racing a Porsche 944 in SCCA.  Following a 15-year family sabbatical, Doc built a BMW E36 M3 and ran in Ontario regional and BMW Club events sporadically over the years. In 2008 he was converted to the Porsche cult and began pursuing a PCA Club Racing effort. In 2009 he ran a Cayman S and acquired his 996 GT3 Cup later that year for the 2010 season, forming the Morning Wood Racing Team. He is looking forward to the 2011 season running in the very competitive GTC3 class.
